COMANECHI LAUNCH THEIR DEBUT ALBUM “CRIME OF LOVE” WITH A PARTY ON DECEMBER 11.
“9/10 – astonishing…Comanechi’s genius is encapsulated…with their unique ability to tantalise and torment within a single breath” – NME
“A tear-away thrash metal debut…the perfect balance of aggression and sweetness” – #9 Album of the Year, Loud and Quiet
“8/10 – a bloody, screaming pulp of a record” – Clash
It may have been a couple of years since their last release, but with their upcoming debut album, “Crime of Love”, due on Merok on December 7, Comanechi – aka Akiko Matsuura and Simon Petrovitch – show that the wait (and the hype) has been more than justified.
An unfettered, wildly untethered rollercoaster ride of a record, “Crime of Love” is a potent dose of high-octane fury and drama straight to the cerebral cortex; a two fingered salute to respectability and the humdrum legions of landfill indie, and most of all, a fiercely compelling and astonishing debut. To celebrate, they are throwing an album launch party on December 11, where they’ll be playing a rare live show alongside Scottish punk tyros (and fellow Merok stablemates) Divorce and off-kilter Japanese rockers Bo Ningen, with DJ support from The Big Pink, A Grave With No Name, Feeding Time and more. Surrender to them now.
