American singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt has been pronounced dead after a suspected overdose on Christmas Eve. He was 45.

Despite overcoming adversity throughout his life after being confined to a wheelchair in 1982 he battled with debt and depression. He will be lovingly remember as a talented artist who over fourteen albums collaborated with a wide variety of performers.

Kimya Dawson expressed her loss via twitter. She also posted a link to the footage below, stating it was one of the most powerful things she had ever seen live.
