Kings Of Leon will proudly release ‘Some Kind Of Salvation', the new album by Tennessee brethren The Features. Having toured with The Features throughout the UK & US, the band fell in love with their sound, energy and explosive live show.
“We’ve been long-time supporters of The Features, they’re one of the best undiscovered bands in the world and we’re excited to be releasing Some Kind of Salvation” - Jared Followill, Kings of Leon.
Produced by Grammy-Award winning Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Kings Of Leon, Tom Waits, Sea Wolf) and Brian Carter, ‘Some Kind Of Salvation’ weaves a sound that can losely be described as a bulging mix of scrappy white-boy soul. The Features’ influences run the gamut of popular music over the last 50 years. Whereas some bands arrange certain songs to sound like this-or-that-era, The Features just let the musical pieces they've picked up through the years fall back into place, giving them an identity all their own.
The Features are Matthew Pelham (guitar, lead vocals), Roger Dabbs (bass guitar), Mark Bond (keyboards) and Rollum Haas (drums).
For the first time in 4 years the band will be heading to the Uk to play a selection of headlining shows:
February:
10th - The Water Rats, London
12th - Club NME @ Koko, London
13th - Be @ Proud Gallery, London
April:
19th - The Barfly, London
20th - Hare & Hounds, Birmingham
21st - King Tuts, Glasgow
22nd - Roadhouse, Manchester

There is no harmony like brotherly harmony. Something indelible in the weave of voices and play of sensibilities is stamped into the fraternal DNA and also stems from a lifetime of shared experiences. You can hear it in classic brother acts across the musical spectrum, from the Louvin Brothers to the Everly Brothers and on down the decades through the Wilson brothers (Beach Boys), the Davies brothers (Kinks), the Allman Brothers and even the Brothers Gibb (a.k.a., the Bee Gees). You can clearly hear fraternal magic at work in the songs of Scott and Seth Avett, better known as the Avett Brothers, as well.
That magic is abundantly evident on I and Love and You, the Avett Brothers’ big-label debut. Its 13 songs, due for release in early april, are delivered in a style that defies pigeonholing but might be described as a rootsy amalgam of folk, country, bluegrass, rock and pop – even a jab of punk-style dynamics here and there. Drawn by the naked honesty of their songs and the rousing intensity of their live shows, legendary producer and talent scout Rick Rubin signed the Avett Brothers – consisting of siblings Scott and Seth, plus bassist Bob Crawford - to his American Recordings label in 2008.

The album is expected to appeal to fans of Sigur Ros and Explosions in the Sky and has already been described as "a stunningly assured record, and one well worthy of further investigation" (Rocksound 8/10). Hot on the heels of his low-key single release "Diminishing Returns" in November, pop's returning champion Ali Love is back in February with "Love Harder", his first proper single and a scintillating teaser of his brand new album, to be released in spring 2010.
Love Harder is a thumping and dark slice of atmospheric disco tough pop like Prince fighting Frankie Goes To Hollywood in Giorgio Moroder's basement. It is addictive, anthemic, glorious and down right dirty all at once, and the perfect entry point into the glittering odyssey that is his album when it is released in May 2010. Look out for remixes from Prins Thomas, Jaymo & Andy George and Mighty Mouse.

Some call it the sport of kings; others consider it to be the purest form of ancient combat. Now mainstream infiltrating pop-punks You Me At Six have immortalised thumb wrestling with a new iPhone app themed around their current album release 'Hold Me Down.'
The 'Hold Me Down' game features unique, intuitive controls that mimic real life thumb wrestling. You can test your skills against a computer opponent, battle your friends on a single iPhone or use Bluetooth networking for the ultimate dual iPhone face-off. The game is also integrated with the OpenFeint platform so players can accumulate points by completing challenges against the computer. The more points you get, the more chance you have of receiving exclusive You Me At Six goodies! There is also a global leaderboard to check your progress against other players. Best of all, you can play as each and every member of the band. So if you've ever wanted to take on the world as Josh, pitch Max and Chris against each other in a six-string thumb war, or see Matt and Dan in a rhythm section showdown, here's your chance! Kasabian launch into 2010 with their explosive highly charged new single ‘Vlad The Impaler’, taken from their No.1 album ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’, which has sold over 500,000 copies so far.
The album was one of the biggest selling of 2009 and yielded the band ‘Best Album’ at the Q Awards, as well featuring highly in a whole host of magazine and newspaper’s album of the year lists.
Following Kasabian’s seismic November arena tour, which was preceded by a 20-date summer run and 9 massive stadium shows with Oasis, they resume touring duties in Australia for a series of New Year ‘Big Day Out’ gigs. Written by Sergio Pizzorno and co-produced by Sergio and Dan The Automator ‘Vlad The Impaler’ is one of many highlights on the record. A turbo-charged rock anthem and full on rant from start to finish sped along by Tom Meighan’s pulsing vocal, Sergio’s bar-raising musical vision, Chris Edwards’ mesmerising basslines and Ian Matthews’ galloping drums. “Vlad is a total chaos tune,” enthuses Sergio. “It’s a call out to all our people, the ones who are tuned into our radio station.”
Kasabian - Sergio Pizzorno (Songwriter, Guitar, Vocals), Tom Meighan (Vocals), Chris Edwards (Bass) and Ian Matthews (Drums) have been announced as the headliners for T in the Park next year. It’s already set to be one of the musical highlights for 2010.

Bomb The Bass exploded into the UK singles charts with their debut single 'Beat Dis' in February 1988, reaching number 2. Reputedly costing £500 to record Beat Dis was a record of the moment, marking the shift away from expensive recording studios to more homemade record making, utilising the increasingly affordable sampling technology that was at the heart of the band’s output. This much sought-after album now comes with several bonus tracks. Out on 15 February via Cherry Pop.
Tracklist: Beat Dis (Us 7 Mix) / Megablast Rap (Version) Featuring Merlin / On The Cut / Don T Make Me Wait / Dynamite Beats / Mega Blast (Hip Hop On Precinct 13) / Hey You! / Shake It / Say A Little Prayer / Beat Dat (Freestyle Scratch Mix) / Bonus Tracks- Beat Dis (Gangster Boogie inc. Remix) / Don’t Make Me Wait (Maximum Frequency Mix) / Megablast (Original Rap Featuring Merlin) / Say A Little Prayer (Get Down & Pray Mix)Posted on 28 January 2010 by Douglas Baptie

After a string of triumphant debut shows in the UK last year, which saw the Vancouver two-piece bring their explosive live act to packed out audiences, Japandroids return to Europe for a tour next month to precede new single Rockers East Vancouver out March 1st on Polyvinyl. Rockers East Vancouver is a highlight of the duo's debut album: a bedlam of riotous garage rock that thunders past in a fit of youthful nostalgia. What marks Japandroids out from other guitar/drums duos is their hooks and melodies are never compromised by the band's visceral energy and lo-fi production.
February 2010 dates:
Monday 22nd February - Freebutt, Brighton
Tuesday 23rd February - ICA, London
Wednesday 24th February - Cockpit 3, Leeds
Thursday 25th February - Deaf Instuite, Manchester
